Pre condition battery for home charging

Hey all - quick newbie question...

had my pod point installed today, excited to use it and not have to run an extension out the letter box anymore for the time being!

Is it beneficial in any way (speed, battery life/condition etc) to pre condition the battery for home charging 30 mins or so before arriving at home? Or is pre condition only for high speed (Supercharging etc) chargers?

thanks in advance!

As above, just not worth it for the low charge rate that any home charge point can deliver.

The main reason for preconditioning the battery before supercharging is just to make sure that it's at the optimum temperature, and, perhaps, more importantly, an even temperature across the whole pack, so that it can better accept the relatively high charge current from DC charging. Even then the charge current isn't really massive, at best a Model 3 LR or performance may be able to charge at a rate of about 2C, which isn't really that high a rate. Some users of similar chemistry cells (not in cars) regularly charge at rates of around 3C, and some may charge at 5C or more, so even 150 kW into a 75 kWh nominal battery pack is relatively conservative, not a bad thing for a pack that needs to be reliable and have a long life.
