According to my sales advisor, it's due to high demand for these models, he referred to an email that apparently was sent internally this morning. Also, there are now 5kkm free supercharging in addition for each inventory car that you take off by December...

Interesting that the delivery time frame has been pushed to March and price increased. I suspect this is for an upcoming refresh as recently rumored. It doesn't make sense that they increased price to due "high demand" and then at the same time offer an incentive for purchasing a Model X.

Agreed, also the way the incentive is structured, i.e. some free SuC for inventory cars and price increase for new orders... We'll see I guess.

I originally had delivery scheduled Dec. 1-31st and just checked today to notice that it had been moved up to Dec. 1-7th. With the new administration coming in, I was thinking it might make sense to try and push off until January with hopes they would reinstate an EV tax credit for 2021... this makes me want to push it off even more... but not sure that's possible with a Dec 1-7th delivery date. I haven't really talked to my Delivery Specialist at all.

Are you getting your delivery soon? I'm watching this very closely. I'm actually scheduled to take delivery of a Model X (new) this Saturday but it seems like it may be very bad timing if they are going to launch a total refresh.

There always something new coming from Tesla, but Tesla also support older cars like no other brand.

I've just had the MCU2 upgrade done for our 2017 X, previously had the CCS retrofit and HEPA filter retrofit. Yes our 2017 X doesn't have as much range or the new suspension but overall its still the best car I have owned and now running all the same software features as a 2020 car.

You than ofcourse have to add in price, our 2017 originally cost £71k than I paid £4.5k for FSD, so £75.5k in the UK. The same car today is current £101k, but with bigger battery and better suspension (not worth £25k to me).

Don't forget FSD price in Europe will likely go up to €10k in line with US, given the amazing videos of FSD Beta coming out its a massive USP for having a Tesla. If you add another £2-4k to price on a new X with FSD thats going to be close to £105k.......or £30k MORE than what we paid, for that amount of price difference you can buy a brand new VW ID!!

The biggest change Tesla can so with the S/X is to lower the purchase cost back to the pre Model 3 levels. But that is clearly not going to happen, these are great cars, but sadly just too expensive for most people to enjoy :(.

I seriously doubt the price increase is related to demand. S/X sales are cratering in Europe. Unless they have some amazing refresh, this price change clearly won’t help. Saying that, my order is already in so I’m not personally affected.

Not really, the stock cars going out very fast. Tried to buy one on Monday and was to late for the white. My sales told me e few days earlier, they had a few of them. No its a black one. This was prior the price changes.

Don't buy if you don't absolutely need a car, I think.

They told me the opposite: very few cars delivered (and sold!) in Q4, and trying to push out what's possible. Glad I didn't pull the trigger.

It seems reasonable to buy now if you need one - 5000km free SuC extra, good leasing conditions (if you have to lease), fast delivery, some rebates on specific cars...
But they don't convince me. I'll wait.
PM me if interested in further detail

Any details to share??

With the price increase the model X is 13.000 USD more expensive than in the US (which could be shipping + import taxes)
-US => 79.990 w/o tax
-EUROPE => 94.970€ (Spain) minus taxes (16.482€) => 78.488€ => 93.000 USD which is 13.000 USD more

Model 3 Long range is 14.000 USD more expensive in Europe than in the US
-US => 45.490 USD w/o tax
-EUROPE => 60.000€ minus taxes (10.400) => 49.600€ => 59.000 USD which is 14.000 USD more

Delivery of S & X to Europe is always the last month of the quarter. Right now there is delivery in December, and next time cars are produced and shipped to Europe for final assembly will be in March. There is good statistics confirming this.

Also, there is no available S & X inventory cars available in Norway right now.

I got a Message from a Tesla Sales Agent telling me that my choice to cancel a reservation for a car wasn't the worst choice I could have made - and this in a situation when they want to sell every unit they can.

I reserved a M S P that was available in Switzerland, to be delivered within just a few days. He said that was one of only few that could be available, and a way to profit from the good deals and conditions when taking delivery in 2020. Then, we decided: not our really favorite color, and as we want to keep the car for a few years again - no. Not this one. I told him, and cancelled.

- I can wait, my car works (even though not flawlessly)
- I was always thinking of seeing the Model Y in person
- There's the rumor these could be delivered to Europe from China as early as 2021 Q1, I could possibly wait
- I still want a Model S, to be honest - ride quality, ... :)
- Maybe I wait for the first Plaid details (updates) to be known - even if I won't order a Plaid
- New pack? New Model 3 tech... More to come?
- Model S could really need a refresh

I wrote all of this in a mail.

His reply:
- not the worst choice, to be honest
- Check our homepage, we've just raised the price by 5000 for deliveries Q1 2021
- go think... I won't tell you more :)

Oh, I forgot:

He also said that they got VERY FEW Model S and X only for Q4 2020 in Switzerland, and even trying to get one from another country to Switzerland was near impossible, given Tesla sent so few.

I don't know if this is a sign of changes being applied to the assebly lines, or has other reasons. Or is true, even...
