Was at the traffic lights and there was a merge around 300metres up the road, I could tell the white van was going to try his hardest to stop me merging, the second the light went green I was 100m up the road and merged in before he even got away from the lights

Haha - yeah - change van for VW Golf R (4.7s 0-60) and you have a real use case where 0.6 makes the difference!

Chill Mode can sometimes be a wee bit too slow

I wouldn't use Chill Mode unless it had a kick-down. Doesn't happen often, but owning a car with the ability to accelerate out of trouble, and then having that turned off with no immediate override method, puts me off using it.
