I live in SoCal and I’m under SCE’s Prime TOU rate schedule (where rates nearly triple between 4pm and 9pm) and are basically the same other than during those hours.
I set up my scheduled departure charging to reach 90% by 8am and specified 3:45pm as the end of off peak hours.
Today, I plugged in at 3pm expecting it to go into waiting mode for a morning charge session but instead it started charging immediately (and finished shortly thereafter because it only need about 15 minutes to reach 90%).
Did it start charging because it knew it would finish before off peak ended? Why didn’t it wait until the calculated time before 8am to start charging so that it would reach 90% at 8am?
Lastly, why doesn’t it ask when off peak hours START? I would think it needs to know that to avoid charging during peak hours.
