Quizzical question concerning tire size...

So, I may be overlooking something obvious here, but given that the 20" induction wheels on the MYLR reduce range significantly, and cost $2K, why would anyone even consider them? If you're buying a MYLR, why diminish the car's main selling point? I'm curious because I've seen several posters noting that they took the option. Is there something I'm missing here? Do they provide something else really compelling?

I think in most cases you'll find it's all about style. A lot of folks do not like the appearance of the 19" wheels with or without the hub caps. So it just comes down to what you like or don't like. That's my guess.

The range trade is 20-30 miles. Is this the end of the world for most owners? I doubt it.

The 20’s and 21’s look so much better than the 19’s.

I think you’re assuming that people who select the long range are doing it because of the range. People buy the MYLR for all kinds of reasons and maximum range is only a priority for some of them.
