Raised "Bumps" in Bumper Where Fastened to Vehicle

My December 2018 build M3 is now about 18 months old. I haven't driven much since early March, just ran to the bank and something caught my eye ... hard to describe but there are bumps where it appears the rear bumper is fastened onto the vehicle. This is on both left and right sides (rear).

Searched the forum and didn't find anything. Has anyone had this appear on theirs? If so, what was the remedy? I scheduled a service visit but hoping to learn more ahead of time.

Did you manage to find out what this was and did the service center do anything? I found this on my new 2022 model as well on both sides.

Really odd they're still having this issue - I had the same thing when I took delivery of my 2018 (VIN 9XXX) Model 3 and they sent it to a body shop to get fixed under warranty. I do not know what caused it.

All the cars I checked at the service center had it so I doubt they will be sending every single car away to have this fixed.. you're lucky I guess.
