Range / Sport / Insane

Hi,

Maybe a small and insignificant topic but anyway.

In the spirit of striving towards simplicity wouldn't it make more sense to have three buttons; Range / Sport / Insane instead of having the Sport and Insane button plus a Range mode switch? Especially now when the Range mode effects driving experience for the D cars? Which would mean that the other model S except from the P85D would only have two buttons; Range and Sport?

Does it make sense?

I think I agree if you mean that there should be one button with three selections: Range / Sport / Insane.

Especially since Insane mode turns off Range mode:

Sayeth Elon on page 80 of TFM:

"On Dual Motor vehicles, you can turn onRange Mode only when acceleration is set toSport (if you change Acceleration to Insane,Range Mode automatically turns off)."

I"ll bet most people who drive around in Range and Insane don't know that their Range selection is trumped by their Insane selection.

That's actually on page 60 but appears to be a remnant of text from an early build of firmware 6.1. Later builds of 6.1 and now 6.2 no longer turn off range mode when you turn on insane mode.
