I would recommend reading through Teslas web page I linked and see what it says. Since you both had a previous tesla account and were a previous owner (thus not a new customer) and it sounds like you also had no products in your tesla account at all, its possible you end up with nothing.

I suggest looking through their FAQs and see what they say.

For a purchase you should receive an email immediately after they place their order, and points should appear as pending in your account; the points will be completely deposited to your account as soon as they take delivery. Not very sure about demo drive though.

I see. You can try calling the Tesla general customer service number and talk to an advisor, and they can check in the backend system. Pls let me know if you need that number.

we had the same issue.
took delivery on model X wife used my ref link, and nothing shown on my account
