They seem to be applying area > reservation, but also at the same time always keeping some set amount being shipped to close up super old reservations. So far it's just BDiddy1470 and I with actual delivery dates, and we are both pre-refresh. But they are also delivering to the bay area with priority (see the first 5 deliveries of the refresh X). Honestly though there seems to be a lot of randomness to it, maybe it's the flavor of the day of the random manager picked to decide where a completed vehicle goes on the priority list.

The app has a lot more info than it did previously. Including a view and manage button. Unless my app just updated.
I just noticed it on my phone app as well. Mine now states 'We're Building Your Car' on the app under the 'Schedule' tab.
I too have white exterior and white interior.
Ordered on Jan 28 2021 and got text on Tuesday similar to what Bruce did asking to confirm that I'm paying cash. I live 30mins from Fremont CA.
Phone number that sent text: 510-330-2539( I tried to call this phone and got machine talking to me on other end...)
Called to tesla sales and they confirmed that text was legit and they think that delivery happens end of year or beginning of next year....
Wonder if there will be a batch of X-es with white interior....

It's premature to conclude that from one text. It could be a mistake, or that text might have nothing to do with the process. We just don't know. Let's just settle down, wait and see what happens.

My browser too changed just a little while ago to "Download the Tesla app to complete the rest of your pre-delivery steps including Insurance". Also have this QR code which then opens up a link to update to the latest version of the Tesla app. Within the newest version I have "We're building your car". Note - My EDD is still January and no VIN assigned yet!

I also noticed the new app with the "View" option. After clicking "view" In the schedule tab it says "we are building your Car".... I hope this is true. EDD still January. If I go to the Manage tab... nothing has changed when I log in to my account. I hope these are indeed good news....

new app is just rolling out. Really nice design, but ultimately no further new details beyond “January” or the state of the build.
Even a little note like “waiting on delayed parts” would be nice just to help set expectations a little.

My Y isn’t due until May and even that says they are building it so yeah I agree
My y reservation has the view with the updated iOS app and the same we’re building your car message
