We'll add transportation shortage to the list of humorous excuses SAs come up with! Not a shot at you @ed.vz , its just a different story every day.
  • Transpiration shortage
  • Chip shortage
  • Seat shortage
  • 22" rim shortage
  • Motor shortage
  • ..what else am I missing?
But don't worry no shortages or issues producing / delivering the M3/MY..

I would love to see the training these SAs go through.

An excerpt from the Tesla Service Advisor Training Manual:
True, no shortages/delivery issues with other models

Yeah that’s the part that makes me angry. The X and S are delayed so much because everything is focused on the cheaper mass market models that are being produced in newer and better factories. It’s like, I get it - if you can make 20 model Y in the time it takes to get 1 X out the door your margins are actually way better and you get to collect money from customers fast before you owe suppliers under your payment terms.

From a purely financial standpoint it makes total sense why they would do it, but from a consumer standpoint the “halo” cars should be a priority.

Tesla air would sell to capacity, but the plane is still tbd disassembled ;)
Tesla Air: “Our departure will be at 9AM”
Then at 9AM: “Our departure will be at 10AM”
Then at 10AM: “Our departure will be at TBD”
Then at 11AM: “Our departure will be at 12PM”

Then we would all sit and watch as a new customer arrives to the airport, purchases a ticket, and they escort them to a waiting jet with upgraded seating. It then takes off right in front of us as we all stare in envy.

I now feel like a chump with only a bachelors and 3 masters. I wanna be called Doctor too, damn it! PhD is in my future now. I always joked with my siblings that once I accomplished 3 Masters Programs, that my title would become Supreme Master which sounds WAY better than Doctor. But a PhD is something I always planned on doing as I want to teach at a university as a retirement job.

May be you didn’t get the title supreme master but you did become a SM (supporting member) 🤣

Sadly the recent tone in society is deleting the word "Master" due to its limited usage in Slavery. My job title as a Scrum Master has been changed to Scrum Expert. My Master Bedroom is now Main Bedroom. So soon you'll be re-defined and have to say "I accomplished 3 Masters Expert Programs"
I am sure even Tesla will not be immune.. Master of Coin will become Coin Expert.

We will see...
Whaaaat? I’m a certified Scrum Master too and hadn’t heard this. But just googled it and saw some mentioning changing it due to BLM. We live in the twilight zone now.

I got a vin 12/29/21, completed all the steps needed. Was told X was gonna arrive on the 1st but nothing, then I got a text saying that my X was on the way to my delivery center. Got scheduled a 1/9/22 delivery day. Then they called me 1/8/22 to tell me my car hasn’t moved and pushed me to 1/13/22. I called this morning and it still hasn’t moved, apparently there’s a transportation shortage. 😕
Yes, Omicron has really impacted all shipping.

I assume you’re picking up at Fremont? Have they reached out to you yet?

I was assigned a VIN a week ago and I called the Fremont Delivery Team to see when I should expect a call. They told me it just came out of production and has not been through inspection yet.

That’s EXACTLY what they told me, and yes, I’m picking up at Fremont. No communication in almost two weeks, so I think it’s a missing component.

Do any of you ever worry about the feeling of disappointment/being underwhelmed once the car is delivered after so much anticipation? I check this forum and refresh my app many times a day to see what's the latest, but I feel almost as though I'm getting myself too hyped-up and excited which might take away some of the fun once I actually receive the car (it'll be my first Tesla). I liken it to the feeling I always got in medical school... before any major exam I was always so excited to finally be done with the exam and expected that feeling to be pure happiness; however, once I was finished with an exam I always felt a little underwhelmed, like "meh this isn't that exciting of a feeling as I expected". IDK maybe I'm odd?
I don’t think you’re odd at all. I have the exact same sentiment. Or maybe we’re both odd, who knows.

When someone hypes up a movie it doesn’t matter how good the movie is, I always seem to be let down. I’m concerned that because so many people have told me how amazing owning a Tesla is, I won’t be as impressed as I would be if I was left to discover things on my own. Throw in the fact that I have probably seen every single video about the X (if not all of them, its pretty dang close), I wont have that “wow” feeling of discovering new hidden gems like I have on most other new cars I’ve owned.

Either way, I’ve been waiting for over 10 months for this car and I am way too stubborn to give up on it now, so love it or hate it, Im getting a Tesla (hopefully).

Well your TMC nickname that I bestowed upon you is, "The Professor" so basically nothing else matters ;)

Now... I've been away for the past several days (50 pages or so) what did I miss? Who are the VINners and who are the LO----- who is still like me - VINless?

What you saying makes sense except the Model X and S lines are staffed by different people. They normally don't pull staff off the lines to argument needs, they commonly pull TA, SA and even solar staff when situations are dire to make deliveries.

Just MHO

Another tip for those that don't know, or haven't yet taken delivery of their cars. When I took delivery of my MX P100D back in 2019, the mobile charging kit came with both the NEMA 5-15 (110v) adapter, a NEMA four prong 14-50 (240v) adapter (and of course a J1772 adapter). Now, the refreshed MX kit only includes the NEMA 5-15 and the J1772 adapter. If your charging plan includes using a four-prong 240v outlet for charging at home or on the go, you'll now need to buy a NEMA 14-50 adapter. I have a Tesla Wall Charger in my garage, so am fine there, but I like keeping an alternative in the kit should I need to charge at some other destination (away from a Supercharger), so I bought one. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it 👍🏼

Three Masters?! I learned my lesson after my first (only) Master. I recently reconnected with an old army buddy who is now an army Psychologist. He was an absolute goofball back in the day (but a truly great dude) so it definitely shocked me that he did that. I don’t like the idea of him having a title I don‘t so I started looking into various PhD programs, but as it turns out I’m just far too lazy to complete that nowadays…
