Replace rear view mirror with Gentex Homelink Autodimming one?

All three mirrors permanently dim to the same amount after sunset. They should un-dim in reverse and you can turn off dimming completely in the settings, but the dimming doesn’t vary depending on glare like it should.

I didn't know you can disable auto-dimming. Will need to do that once I tint my windows.

For traditional auto dimming, you need two light sensors. On facing forward out the front windshield and one facing backwards towards the rear of the car. It dims if it's dark in the front and bright in the back.

You can probably simulate the rear light sensor with the backup camera.
