Responsiveness over 17" touch screen over time

Coincidentally, I just noticed this article saying that existing windows phone users will need to buy new hardware if they want the newly announced OS:

Windows Phone 7 Users Cant Upgrade to WP8 | PCWorld

Phone devices have definitely switched to a semi-disposable model. Get a deal on a 2 year contract, then upgrade to a new phone. The hardware just advances too quickly to hang onto old phones for too long. Hard to know what Tesla might consider doing to the touch screen in 2 or 3 years.

Recently I reinstalled a Pentium MMX@233MHz with Windows 98. I was amazed by the zippy user interface! Sure it would bog down if I were to browse today's internet with IE4 so this might happen to the browser in Model S, too. But Tesla is here to keep things running. Just make sure you buy the extended browser warranty from Tesla!
