Ridge in the footwell flooot

I figured I’d post this here as it’s easily verified by other owners …

In 2+ years of ownership I’ve always vacuumed the floor keys and been good. Today I pulled them out to vacuum under and found an odd ridge towards the pedal area where I expected it to be flat all the way through.

is this actually by design or an assembly flaw?

I have the same ridge on both the driver and passenger floorboard (or at least I think I do from your post). Mine is definitely not flat, and I assumed this was just the way it was.

@KenC: I tried getting a picture that would illustrate clearly, but the carpet definitely masks it in pictures.

@m a x i m u s: The ridge does cross the driver and passenger footwell. It’s maybe 6 inches max rearward of gas/break pedals.
