Roadster in Iron Man movie

Yeah, Burger King was the only placement I really noticed. You might consider the cars product placement, and I guess they are, but they were legitimately cool cars, so I gave it a pass. The R8 is pretty awesome. Not like that cheesy Ford they had Bond driving in Casino Royal. That was embarrassing.

Yeah the R8 is a pretty cool looking car and that's why I thought it fit the mood of the film nicely. The Mondeo that Bond drove though isn't so much a cheesy car as a very normal car. That might not be a very Bond car as it's way too cheap, but the car itself is good enough (well atleast the earlier models I've driven).

The Audi product placement was pretty conspicuous. First there are at least three, his R8, Pepper's car and the SUV in the final battle scene. Notice that non of them got damaged at any point. It was pretty crazy when Peppers car is parked right outside the exploding building and the SUV is getting picked up off the ground and tossed around with no damage.

Finally saw it this weekend. Good movie. Wife also said it was better than most comic book movies (X2 rules!).

The takeover of the man who's name is the comapny was all too similar.

I shouted at the first showing of the Tesla and frankly it distracted me from the movie. I kept looking at the car and who it was paired with in the garage.

If the R8 plate was "Stark 4" and the Hotrod was "Stark 1" what was the Tesla?

The problem with product placement is it takes you out of the "alternate universe" that you need to be in for a comic book movie. (like Batman's ride). The cars should all be non descript (as is the Tesla -for now). All the Audis were a bad idea.

I was hoping for the burger to be an In and Out. It's a burger you want after being away from one for a long time. (if you are a burger person).

It's good to hear the Roadster will be in Iron Man II, it's also interesting to hear that Space X is involved in the movie. Is Solar City involved as well?

Tesla should get Robert Downey Jr. (err... Iron Man) to drive a Tesla Roadster Sport a bit during the show instead of that dino-burning Audi.

To be completely honest I hadn't seen, or really heard a whole lot about, the Roadster when I saw Iron Man I. I was looking at his cars and, due to the pretty quick camera action, the only car I thought the Roadster might be (partially due to bias) was a Dodge Viper.

It wasn't even a 1.5 It was one of the original mule's used for development before proper Roadster came out.

It was basically an (electrified) Lotus Elise with band-built fiberglass bodywork, not the full CF and modified chassis that came later.
