Salesman said my order would reflect new pricing, but lied or was wrong...

Hey, so I took delivery on Wednesday. I ordered autopilot and was told I would get upgraded for free to FSD. When I went there it stated enhanced auto pilot and I told the delivery specialist about the free upgrade to FSD. He seemed a little confused and then said enhanced auto pilot is FSD. I’m able to autosteer, summon, etc, so he was right and I was given it for free.

No. Enhanced Autopilot is not FSD. FSD has a few more features than EAP but are not available right now. Please see the image below. Even my delivery specialist tried to make me believe that EAP is FSD. I thought he didn't know as much as I did. I suggest you to ask about the free FSD upgrade they promised. It helps if you have anything in writing. Unfortunately, I don't have any proof in writing in my case. They just told me a couple of times over phone.

Agreed. The person who delivered the car to me, who just seemed way to eager to leave, tried to tell me that EAP was already FSD. To which I disagreed and pointed out that EAP did not contain the full suite of future features, and the promise to swap for HW3 when it comes out.

I texted the sales rep regarding this and he said enhanced autopilot is the same as full self driving, you get all the bells and whistles. I still have the email he sent me along with this text message and others, so if any problems once FSD is active, I'll just show the emails and messages.

Since none of us were in on the conversation when he was making promises to you we can’t comment on whether he gave you what you thought you were getting. But clearly EAP is not the same thing as FSD. EAP exists today and does not require an upgrade of the autopilot hardware. FSD is what is currently in development, with no definitive time table on when it will be complete. But for those of us who paid for FSD we were promised, via a number of Elon’s tweets, that we would get the free upgrade to HW3 when it was ready.

EAP is no longer available anymore, and it is questionable whether Tesla will add any new functionality to it. At this point you can only have AP (TACC and autosteer) or the full suite of technology referred to as FSD, much of which has not been released yet. Those of us who did purchase EAP when it was still available will not lose any functionality but we probably won’t get much added to it either.

We ordered before the price changed. Originally we ordered EAP, FSD and Standard Range. They upgraded it to Long Range and then we removed FSD and got it added for free. At the last minute, we cancelled and ordered an AP3 Long Range X from inventory.

This is what he emailed me as confirmation that I will get a free upgrade to FSD. Please see image. So it does say enhanced auto pilot will get FSD. I guess I will keep this along with our text messages. For the record, FSD is not out yet, correct?

The best way to find out what you have is to log in to your account on the Tesla web site and click through to the detail page on the car. It will list all of the options that are included with your car. If it says EAP then you do not have FSD. It must say FSD for you to be entitled to the hardware upgrade and future software enhancements. If it doesn’t say FSD, you don’t have it and need to follow up with them.

Yep it doesnt say FSD, since the sales rep doesn't seem to know this, I'll call the main Tesla center number. If they aren't giving me a clear answer, I can ask for a supervisor or do you know the name of the position? I remember coming across a thread where he was having a lot of issues and he asked to speak with XYZ and they quickly addressed his issues and made it good.

If you or anyone is willing to screen shot your car profile in your tesla account (block out any sensitive information), it would help if I can show... see this person has enhanced auto pilot AND full self driving listed. It isn't the same thing as I've been told.

I looked back at one of your earlier posts about ordering your car and I saw that you didn't order it until March 15. So don't you fall into the first category, ordered after 2/28/19?? Maybe someone you spoke with didn't realize you had just recently ordered it.

And no Full Self-Driving is still a ways off. A few of the features that were part of EAP got moved to the FSD features (many people didn't want to buy all of the EAP features and just wanted TACC and/or AutoSteer) and they are releasing other features as they can but they are still driver assist.

I ordered mine on Feb 4th. I had a delivery scheduled around March 15-19, but that car had a faulty door that needed to be completely replaced, so they canceled my delivery appointment and set me up with another car and I picked it up on Wednesday.

Do let us know if you have any success. I’m in the same situation as you, and am trying to see if I can get the free FSD promised added to my account.

Based on those dates and the fact that you paid for EAP, you are entitled to a free FSD upgrade. But you definitely don’t have it properly coded on your account. Others have worked through this situation but it may take multiple phone calls, emails and texts before you find the right person to fix this for you. Stay on them and you will get this resolved. Just know it probably won’t be easy.

Thanks! The delivery rep said it was the same thing, my sales rep said it was the same thing... so my best option now is to call the national or main call center lol.

BTW when you look under Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement are you showing an order date of 2/4?

Oh they changed it to March 9th on the order agreement LOL. Sneaky! And yet I still paid Feb 4 pricing. I'm definitely going to demand to speak to a supervisor when I call. I'll give them benefit of the doubt they will fix this, but if not, this is below a used cars dealership ethics and I'll be sure to tell customers at my local service center. It would be all out war based on principle. I'm going to screen shot all my text messages just in case anything happens to them.

My delivery specialist tried really really REALLY hard the last few days to get me the promised autopilot. He talked to some folks at corporate that sit in with the big wigs. Elon is NOT for gifting software. Whoever told me that was the case is probably in a lot of trouble now. It’s still doubtful if I’ll get it but I took delivery today and am very happy with it. Now I can explore other topics in this forum finally! I’ll drop back here if I hear anything.
