Seat belt caused seat cushion tear

Have a 2022 model x 7 seater. I noticed the bottom cushion of the passenger side 2nd row seat developed a tear. Couldn’t figure out why until I folded the seat down and realized the seat belt falls directly onto this spot and must have punctured the seat. Seems like a strange thing to happen, Tesla says the repair is on me and $1k - replacement of the bottom cushion. Has this happened to anyone? Any luck with getting it done as a warranty issue?

You might ask for Goodwill rather than warranty. Maybe bring chocolate chip cookies!
