Hello all,
So in an effort to find an easy way to access the footage of Sentry Mode and the dash cam I had an idea. I actually had to use one of these at a client and realized it is such a simple idea for the car. I was thinking of a wireless USB drive or building a Raspberry PI, but then this is much easier.
I am going to use a USB selector switch, with the input the flash drive. One of the two outputs will be the car and the other a tucked away USB a cable. The one I selected also has the selector button on a cable, thus the switch, with the flash drive plugged into it, will be hidden in the center console (will remove trim) with the wire to the car routed to it, and the wire to plug into a laptop routed out in the center console.
I should have the pieces in the next day, but this seems like a simple way to be able to very easily access the data without having to remove the drive each time, and keeps it secure for those worried about it being stolen in a theft (not my concern, but this setup gives that as a bonus).
What do others think; I should be able to prove it this weekend!
