A bit high, yes, but this original UMC can charge at 40Amps vs 32Amps with the newer ones.
It should be noted, this one is an early (old) model with a physical flap style button unlike the later style.
Equivalent new is $520, without the ability to change plug adapters, Corded Mobile Connector

I'm surprised to see that too. Not so much if it's OOS but see it a lot here just like nextdoor tech stuff. Good for sellers I guess.

This will work with it, but you're capped at 32A max, so not really useful.

Honest question, is there any pro/con to one button style over the other?

No functional difference as far as I've seen - it honestly feels a little better when depressing it. I imagine they went to the current gen to save manufacturing costs on discrete parts. I see the current gen ones get all plastic cracked though... so give or take, really.
