With all the fancy sensing and camera devices, why is it that I can’t “see” the little concrete barriers —4-5 inches high—that are often in parking lots? I have pulled my spoiler off three times now.
The ultrasonics aren’t that ‘fine tuned’ and you would need a front camera (there’s a project and thread about that in the S forum). Another reason many of us back in using the standard equipment, as mentioned above.
Ultrasound sensors cannot sense obstacle position, only proximity, think of them as shooting a cone.
Camera can't see there's height, unless it is a stereo camera or data is processed for photogrammetry.
In short; the information is not available to AP today.

I back in on all the spots I can, I’m finding more more locations going to the one way drive ways with the angled spots. Just a pain so I try to avoid them.
