Service mode not accessible [model 3 imported from japan to trinidad]

Hi I have a model 3 from Japan. I entered the password ‘service’ but unable to enter service mode. Did anyone else have issues with model 3?

I think that the service mode is locked somehow in Japan, like I had read about in other countries? Some sort of geo-lock maybe? Anyway, I'm in Japan and I also cannot enter the service mode by inputting the "service" password.
