After 18 months and a lot of driving I’ve noticed the black trim sometimes stands out as seeming dirty even right after a wash 🧽 in the driveway.
Wish there was a way to get it prison black again

It's a chemical reaction between the soap used in automatic car washes and the anodized black trim. It's been discussed several times here on the forum. I can't remember if it is because the soap is acidic or alkaline, but what you really want to do is hand wash and use is a ph-neutral soap from someone like Meguiars, Adams, Chemical Guys, etc..

Thanks guys. Typo in original post should say Piano black.
I haven’t used automatic car wash but perhaps my hand wash soap is less than ideal PH wise. I will definitely be looking into those other products mentioned
