Somehow changed to old stealth order?

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while and ordered a LR AWD Model 3 mid January. I recently decided after seeing how the Stealth 3's were discontinued for the 2k extra and moved to the full Performance tier to just go ahead and get the Performance instead of the AWD. So I was thinking my price would jack up 8k to around 59k for Blue/White combo and I'd get the 20" wheels and all the stuff I wasnt excited to get...

So I call the online number today as I was not getting responses from my sales person for days and see if they would just modify the order. I had not been assigned a VIN yet so I figured it would not be much of an issue. After telling the guy on the phone I'd like to have the Performance instead of the AWD he spent a bit of time and said it was done and I'd get an email.

I got an email later and saw it looked nearly identical to what I had. I did notice the price went up... 2k and it still had the 18" wheels and everything... but the interesting part said it was a Long Range All-Wheel Drive Performance now.

So... Am I winning the lottery here and was able to order an actual Stealth AWD for 2k? Or am I getting setup for an epic fail and will just be getting an standard AWD now.

This is what it shows for me now. I also got in the email the modified Motor Vehicle Order Agreement which shows the same as the graphic below, Performance.

Oh man good luck! I sent an email earlier to my advisor looking for a performance. If they can give me the old deal on a stealth I will lose my mind. Maybe we're grandfathered in at $2k?

Well its not even built. Its not an Inventory car like they used to do, so not sure about grandfathering. I think it comes down to on delivery day do they notice and give me 2k back, even though I want a stealth performance. If they require the 8k though I want the full performance package with everything though. (I don't want to pay 8k for the stealth, 2k is great!)

My hypothesis, based only on my personal motivations, is that the advisors may have the power to change your LR AWD order to the old stealth price since you initially ordered prior to the change in policy. Maybe they're allowed to write up orders for stealth models now that the process has changed and you can still get the off-menu price as an order change even if new orders get the $8k quote.

That's 100% me being hopeful but it has no more or less logic than charging the same price for cars with or without a ton of additional kit. Would anyone be surprised by anything Tesla does with their ordering or customer service at this point? I'm the opposite of you. I would love to get the performance but I want the range and bling-free benefits of a stealth model.

Basically I'm paying a little extra to get the performance speed/inverter for 2k instead of the now new price of 8k. My thinking is if I had to pay 8k anyways to get the speed I might as well get all the other upgrades as well and changes the wheels out much later to 18". Ultimately

This likely refers to Long-Range AWD with 'Performance Boost' already installed
I’m curious too. I’ve been trying since December to go stealth and I always get the same answer “there aren’t stealth performance models in your region”. I take delivery of the AWD tomorrow so I guess it is what it is at this point.

Boost is an after delivery purchase. And it would show up as a separate line item even if you could order it with the car. And they would not describe it as LR AWD Performance since that is the exact description of an actual Performance trim.

I don’t know what the OP has here. It will be interesting to see what gets delivered.

I was debating saying anything to my sales lady but I wanted to make sure, it may be a 6500 dollar mistake but I had to know. I'll reply back if she emails and does some checks. I was wrong in my original numbers as I assumed it increased 2000 like the old Stealths, but it was just 1500! Even if it was the boost, thats 500 savings.

Can anyone who has ordered a Performance model or even the new "Stealth" Performance model with the 18" wheels post a screenshot/wording of their design? My only worry is it is somehow indeed the "Performance Boost" but it says nothing about that.View attachment 508044

Nobody is ordering Stealths right now because they are priced exactly the same as the full Performance trims, which obviously makes no sense. You definitely have a Stealth car configuration in your order agreement. It is definitely not an AWD with boost software. The question is will someone at Tesla catch it and change the price. Or did they mean to price it that way and the website is just not updated to offer a discounted price for the Stealth model. We don’t know yet.

What we do know is that the current pricing of a Stealth makes it such that nobody would order one right now for the same price as the full Performance model.

I just sent my Delivery specialist a email asking I f I upgrade to the stealth at the 53,790 price and I don’t have to start the 5-7 week wait again to get me upgraded I’ll just bring the extra 2.5k with my down payment and finance the same exact amount. Hope I get good news tomorrow
