I did select cash when I placed the order. Will go with loan. I hope they let me use the same loan app as in my original order.

my new order i placed 4 days ago is the one I was told will be delivering in a couple weeks. MSM/Black performance non-PUP 19” No-tow No-FSD. They would not let me transfer the original orders finance and I had to run another credit check. My original car was ordered in Jan 2020 and was identical except PUP and I’ve yet to hear anything on it

Anyone think if Tesla will punish if too many people decide to do this ? There might be just a few orders with no intent of accepting, and Tesla should probably understand that is there is a problem.

Probably in the future. But if the orders were first in first out, there would be no need to do this.

I cancelled my 3/15/2019 Y PUP white/white reservation out of rage last week and placed an new order for for cheaper AWD white/white on may 31st, this morning Tesla delivery specialist called and told me my AWD Y will be ready to pick up in 10 days. Tesla is treating people placed $2500 deposit as a free loan to them. Don't place faith in them, do what need to be done, cancel and reorder.

Thanks for the info. This is very tempting. I do have a trade involved, but I'm looking to sell it privately and Tesla's offer was just a back up. Maybe I'll cancel and order one unencumbered by a trade.

Something called an "Order Agreement" showed up on the page. Is that an official "MVPA"? I never had that on the original, 15 month-old order.

Yeah, at the top of it, it says "Motor Vehicle Order Agreement", which is obviously different than a "Purchase Agreement".

But I am 100% sure I never had the MVOA on my original order. The only thing I ever had was the Lemon Law notice. So, after a few hours, I'm further along that I was in 15 months.

Good luck! I had a red one on order for almost 5 months - when I placed a new one for an MSM I had a MVPA within 48 hours and picked up my beauty today, all in less than a week! Couldn't be happier. A few minor gap/trim issues but easily fixed, glad to be back in the fold again after selling my M3. IMO the the MY is much better!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope it all works out. I've got a Model 3 to sell now too, but it should be a piece of cake to get more than Tesla was offering.

Update: My backup order got MVPA today. No progress on original order. If I don’t see progress on my original order by the end of next week, I will go with my backup order.

For the record, couple days ago I changed my backup order from white interior to black interior and 20 inch wheels.
