Sudden Slowdown With New Software Update 2019.8.2

Since the new software update with sentry mode and traffic lights, I have now had 6 instances where the autopilot went from 70 to 20 miles/hour suddenly with no warning despite not having any cars in the front on the freeway.

Luckily, each time I did not have anyone behind me. This is dangerous! Am wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

This is not just on autopilot alone, but I also had it happen when I had adaptive cruise on!!

Please post if anyone has this issue once you updated to 2019.8.2.

It hasn’t happened on my X, though it does happen on my 3 with FSD. It’s definitely scary!

It would be nice if all buyers of Tesla cars can see bug reports, or may be it would just be scary.

I have not experienced phantom breaking, and I hope everyone who has experienced it file a ticket with Tesla Once logged into Tesla account, click Contact Support. I have had hit and miss luck with it. There is also the [email protected]. Wait times can be long.

I got an acknowledgement that this is a real and dangerous issue by the SC last week. I am not the only one with this issue, as is also evident from this thread!
