There's already a 2-stall 72 kW Supercharger in South Padre. No problem because it's more of a destination than a pass-through stop for most travelers.

With the amount of Tesla traffic one could see during the SS launches, a two 72 KW charger tucked in a corner is good enough?

I say 90% of the Teslas that come there are staying in Brownsville, and the stalls there are crowded for the most part. A 16 stall SC just outside (or inside) the Isle Blanca park would be just great.

I was passing through the area and stopped by to check this site. Score! All of the work is done except for the utility transformer (and meter). 16 V4 pedestals are in, along with their cabinets. Asphalt and striping is done. No signage. So this is really just waiting on the utility transformer and then it should be online within a week.
