Good info.. surprised that info took 18 weeks to find its way to this forum! Piccones appears to have existing AC chargers so they seem like an ideal host!

There hasn't been much discussion here about sites north of Bowen since there's nothing on the Tesla website map, plus discussion has been more focused about filling in the gap between Bowen/Rockhampton. Seems fairly sure we'll get a Mackay/Sarina site, now a Cairns site, and probably a Townsville/Ingham site too, to bridge the gap.

Yeah, they probably wouldn't want to not have a Townsville site. So Bowen/Townsville/Tully/Cairns (140-200 km gaps) would be more likely than Bowen/Ingham/Cairns (230-310 km gaps).

Supercharger - Tully, Qld

The Tully site as shown on Queensland government co-funded site list is '76 Butler St, Tully' which is a local council run tourist attraction, one of the 'Big Things'. It is currently due for some staged upgrades. Banyan Park Beautification Stage One is due for completion by end June 2024, to...

Awesome. We have driven Brisbane to Warrnambool via the great ocean road, we’d love to do cairns next but I am not keen on using the QLD electric highway. Once the SC are in we will drive up for sure.

Brisbane to Rockhampton is easy. Even the QESH has frequent enough chargers, they are just limited to 50kW. If you have the range to get from Rockhampton to Mackay in one step, you can use Superchargers (otherwise you do have to take your chances a little bit at Marlborough or Carmila).

From Mackay, you can use Evie chargers at Proserpine and then Townsville. That leaves you with needing a single top-up on QESH before Cairns. Choose Cardwell if you can, it's super-accessible and a pleasant spot. Tully and Innisfail are backups.

If course, you will need an overnight stop somewhere. If you can charge overnight then you might be able to skip using a roadside charger somewhere.

Great that that appears to confirm Tully as Tesla. Noted that there are two entries for Townsville in the Qld grant list.

So think highly likely that Tesla will have a Bowen - Townsville - Tully - Cairns link.

Still think one more site between Mackay and Rockhampton is needed (335km) to properly complete Brisbane to Cairns on Superchargers. Marlborough probably the most obvious candidate (not on the grant list)
