Supercharger Speed

Our first road trip with the M3, I purposely picked out all 120kw stations but only maxed out at 101kw. I was hoping for at least 120kw and maybe even 145kw with the new updates. Is this the same for everybody?

It depends on your state of charge. You will only be getting the 120kw if your battery is below 40% (or more). As far as I know the 145kw has not gone out to all super chargers yet.

Two main factors are state of charge and battery temperature. Also, battery management system will decrease as state of charge increases. Here's a graph of Urban super charges in Chicago demonstrating the variety of rates I've experienced.

150kw charge rate requires your car to have software version 12.1 or above.

Do you have an SR or SR+? If so, other members have report that it's currently capped at 102kW. Standard Range Plus Supercharging Speed

Yes this is exactly the reason. SR and SR+ capped at 102kw.

102 is good enough. The congested chargers around Los Angeles get 70 ish kw even when it says 120kw. So LR SR premium range whatever you call it doesn’t even matter.

I'm curious what the 102kw rate equals in MPH gained? I'm guessing the SR+ is fairly efficient. More so than my AWD LR. So 102kw may charge the smaller battery pack at the same overall rate as 125kw in the LR.
