My friends were hoping to test drive one of the orange ones: 2012 Tesla Model S Prototype Workshop: Photo Gallery
Hey TEG... thanks for the reminder photos but I was hoping to see the "crash" cars in their finished state prior to the NHTSA testing. BTW, what have yours friends heard??? lol
They're implants placed there by EVIL OVERLORDS who intend to perform EXPERIMENTS on them after they are DEAD. Quick, now where's my tin-foil hat?
Heh, I remember when Crash Dummies had their own line of toys. In any case, I'd imagine the "finished" orange test mules wouldn't be much more than barebones re: hinting towards new styling ideas etc. Basically, I don't think we'd learn anything new by SEEING the finished mules.
Tell them I hate them... Reminded me of this awesome Futurama Slurm episode: Slurm Factory Tour - Futurama - Season 1 - Ep. 13 - Video Clip | Comedy Central Kiss My Shiny Metal Daffodil.
Hey TEG, Have your friends heard anything from TM as to when the crash testing will begin? Also, have they heard anything on the "Beta" version of the "S"? Your friends are the coolest. LOL:biggrin:
Actually change of plans. Rather than having my 'friends' crash one, they should just loan me one and I will try not to crash it!
Hey TEG, Any word from your friends on the results of the Model S crash testing? LOL... How soon there after the release of the Beta Model S will crash information will be available?
They haven't said much. I think they are planning a trip in October to: "The Crash Test Zone" & "The Battery Show" I wonder if results will show up here? : http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/database/aspx/vehdb/testtableinfotop.aspx (Perhaps Alpha testing is just preliminary, and doesn't go towards the "public" rating until they test cars closer to production intent?) Anyways, Tesla doesn't appear to be listed in the Manufacturer choices when looking for results... IIHS VRC video tour
