TEIN Flex Z Coilovers: 2017+ Tesla Model 3 RWD

ein has released the FLEX Z Coilovers for the 2017+ Tesla Model 3! Tein FLEX Z inherits all the features and quality of STREET FLEX but the adoption of the new platform allows its price to be set at a low range. FLEX Z, of course, maintains the long-favored "Made in Yokohama" quality. Considering the use of larger tires/wheels and the lowered ride height, FLEX Z uses a twin-tube system, in pursuit of ride comfort on streets. Also, low gas pressure keeps friction low. Its smooth stroke movement makes it possible to follow rough and bumpy road surfaces quite well, offering a supple ride at low speed and a stable ride at high speed. Full-length ride height adjustment system, used for FLEX Z, enables adjustment of ride height by adjusting the case length, without changing the damper stroke length and/or spring pre-load. FLEX Z has an ever-popular 16-level damping force adjustment (comp./rebound together) feature with the use of a needle valve. By turning the adjustment knob, damping force (stiffness) is adjusted linearly step by step, to change the ride and handling of the car to suit the driver's needs/preferences.

Nothing about Tein has ever coincided with quality. All historical testing of valving has been hugely varied and disappointing that Ive seen over the years (20+ish in the aftermarket world). And they also tend to have very high failure rates and low rebuild-ability.

If you want something cheaper, I'd pick BC over Tein just because they can often be rebuilt or modified.

This is a price point product like those ABC/XYZ/Yellow/Red coilovers from China. Performance might be better though.

Running MCS 2WNR with Swift Springs myself. Never really into the mass produced off of the shelf solution.

Interesting, other players in the mods space are starting to enter the fray which is great. I just hope this wasn't tuned on JDM roads...

I never used Tein stuff much, more of a Cusco and Whiteline.

Great inexpenseive coilovers for JDM cars and E9x BMWs(those are my experiences). Likely better than the ABC/XYZ/XXX brands from China.
