Tesla charger won’t open charge port

recently received be second gen Tesla charger and the button won’t open the charge port. The first gen cable opened the charge port no issue. Was this feature deprecated or is there a way to fix it?

Something like that has happened to me a few times. When that's happened I use the button on the touch screen to open the port.

mine works best if i hit the button while the handle is near the middle of the rear window. Not near the charge port.

Mine suddenly stop working either, neither at a Supercharger. Tesla told me it's a software bug. (I'm on 2019.11.1, AP2, MCU1). It still work with same release on an AP1 car.

The button broke around2019... 8.3 ...sometimes works for me sometimes doesn’t

Some firmware versions seem to break it, then it gets fixed. 2019.12.1.1 broke mine; 2019.16.2 fixed it again. You can try rebooting, but that might not help. Since you can always push the port to open it I don't regard it as a huge deal when it's broken, though it is a little more convenient.
