I always thought the 90KW batteries always had a range around the 85kw batteries. Am I going crazy? It has not always been 294 right?
It was always rated higher than the 85. Mine charged to 293 in December 2016 and actually went up to 295 in May 2017. Last time I charged it to 100%, it still got 286 miles after two years and 21000 miles of driving.

The EPA rating for the old nose S90D is/was rated the same as the S85D for convenience when they upgraded to the 90 battery. When they came out with the refresh cars they got the new EPA rating and thus the "true" higher mile number. They must have felt it wasn’t worth the effort to update the EPA number for a short period when the refresh car was just around the corner.
