So Tesla is facing a lawsuit, perhaps from a member on here since there was a huge topic when they disabled max power ludicrous. Although this isn’t directly related, it is in several others ways. Check for yourself

Well since it seems to be popular to sue for pretty much anything in hopes of easy money, maybe I should sue Tesla for telling me I would get 300 miles of range when I am only getting 299.9999999999999 miles. I must surely have a good case Sure it is a joke. Some people don't get it.

I simultaneously think the lawsuit has merit, but also that lawsuit is a bit premature.

From what I've read about it I don't believe this is the FINAL solution for the people impacted. Instead I think the engineers at Tesla are still working on finding a good balance safety, and range when charged to 100%.

It has the potential to be pretty bad for Tesla when part of the entire point of getting a Tesla was to have EXTREMELY solid battery management and longevity. Certainly way better than a Nissan Leaf.

So it's a pretty black eye for them to come out with an update that causes people to lose a non-trivial amount of range.

Crap happens though, and most manufactures face lawsuits time to time.

This may not be the "final solution" Tesla intends (I hope not!) but they've been lying to owners for months and denying the update caused reduced range and decreased power. The class action has at least forced them to stop lying which should let them finally start working on a solution besides denial.

The yellow border issue has equal merit, but tlet's not pretend Tesla can only fix one warranty issue - these issues stem from the same root problem: Tesla thinks it doesn't have to warranty anything. It's a systemic issue and it's metastatic.
