Tesla facing lawsuit for updates that were a huge topic on this forum

I simultaneously think the lawsuit has merit, but also that lawsuit is a bit premature.

From what I've read about it I don't believe this is the FINAL solution for the people impacted. Instead I think the engineers at Tesla are still working on finding a good balance safety, and range when charged to 100%.

It has the potential to be pretty bad for Tesla when part of the entire point of getting a Tesla was to have EXTREMELY solid battery management and longevity. Certainly way better than a Nissan Leaf.

So it's a pretty black eye for them to come out with an update that causes people to lose a non-trivial amount of range.

Crap happens though, and most manufactures face lawsuits time to time.
