Tesla insurance in California: does it cover rental cars?

I apologize if this has been asked before. I did a search but I didn't find it.

My question is that, if I hold only the Tesla insurance, does it cover rental cars (usually not Tesla) when I travel? I am primarily concerned about the liability insurance since my credit cards have damage waiver. I used to have "normal" insurance from Geico, Progressive, etc. and they should be able to cover rental cars. But since Tesla insurance is brand-specific I am not so sure...
