1. I applied for a membership on Friday (applied online, and a few hours later they requested a copy of my driver's license and proof of address). .....

My experience hasn't been nearly as smooth as yours thus far, unfortunately.

Applied to join first thing Wednesday morning.
Got an email an hour or so later requesting a pic of my driver's license and social security card (which I thought was odd). I supplied both.
Got an email later asking for proof of address, which I supplied.
After not hearing anything, I called in to see if my account was active. They said it takes at least 24 hours and I should call back on Thursday.
Today (Thursday) I called in the morning to see if my account was active and was told it takes 72 hours.
I decided this afternoon to call again to see if I could get different info from a different person. Was told that my account wasn't active because I needed to fund my donation. I said I did fund my account. They came back and said the issue was that I did it via ACH and that it could take 5-7 business days. I said I didn't have that long and need to apply for an auto loan asap. I was then told to send a letter stating that I wanted my member number and why. Which I did.
I didn't hear back from them so did a chat on the web site. The person seemed to immediately know who I was because she said the letter was forwarded to the appropriate department and I'd have to wait until the end of the day to get the email with the info I need.
The end of the day has come and gone and I did not receive the email.

The moral of the story is to give yourself plenty of lead time. If things don't go smoothly it could take a while!

Sorry to hear that. I think the main difference was that I used a credit card to fund my account (had to pay a $10 penalty to my credit card company). Good news is that once you start the actual loan process, it should be quick, given that you have all the required documents ready to go

I applied yesterday and my account was active today and was able to apply for the loan. But i paid with credit card and later added $10 check deposit using mobile phone app.

Sounds like I’m going to need to call tomorrow. I funded with ACH and I have delivery scheduled next Friday

Yeah, I was given the choice of either this coming Saturday or Monday for delivery. I took a time on Monday knowing I wouldn't make Saturday, but now I won't even be able to make Monday. Anybody know how to change delivery date? I don't even have a delivery advisor yet!

Log in to tesla.com and under manage you will see request a change. Click other and request to change delivery date.

I didn't have my delivery specialist either. I called the 888 number and it connected me to my local SC where it was supposed to be delivered. The person that answered the phone said no one was assigned as my delivery specialist but that she could assign herself to be it. Note that I picked my delivery date on 9/14 and I called them on Monday 9/16, so I wasn't surprised that no one was assigned to me yet. But once she assigned herself as my delivery specialist, she adjusted my trade-in (matched with CarMax), added the 2 year supercharging, added my insurance information (for some reason this wasn't one of the "prepare for delivery" steps on Tesla's website), and drew up the MVPA on the same day. You should give them a call and see what's going on.

Thanks, will call first thing tomorrow.

ACH is beyond their control, usually on the institution that the money is coming from. Allegacy will not process the loan application until the membership is open and funded.

So to share my experience...

Allegacy was a huge pain the *ss, requesting tons of information/documents before approving me which others did immediately. But so be it, I got the 1.99% for 66 months. But it's only 90% of the value as others have mentioned.

Tesla will match the 1.99% for the amount Allegacy is offering (36k), or should I just finance the whole amount with Tesla (41k) at 2.99%? I figure I can take the 5k delta and put it in a savings account at 2.4% or so and that more than makes up the 1% difference. Is my math right here?

I think you pay just under $1,500 more in interest at the higher rate and loan amount. I don't think $5,000 at 2.4% is going to generate that much in investment income over 66 months.

I got a thank you for joining email from Allegacy this morning. It doesn't have any info in it but when I check my application status it shows me an account number for the savings account I opened. I asked the chat if I could have my member number and she asked me to email some address asking for my member number. We'll see how this goes.

Edit- They wrote back and said when the account is funded they will give me a member number, sometime next week. GRRR

They just replied again and said check back on Tuesday
