This article seems to accuse Tesla of discouraging tire replacement services from a generic shop, as that would generate TPMS errors, forcing the shop to work around them by using "Customized Pressure. "


I've never had any TPMS issues by using a generic shop for tire replacements for my 2012 Model S, 2017 Model X, and 2018 Model 3.
