Tesla phone connectivity remains and Tesla receives calls when phone 4 miles away

Issue on 1st September after software upgrade day before.
My wife was driving the car when she received a call through the car that had been made to my phone.
However, I and my phone were about 4 miles away at home.
She took the call and completed it and then phoned my mobile from her phone, which was with her in the car.
The call to my phone rang in the car, I was still 4 miles away at home, and did not ring on my phone.
However the call did register on my phone as a missed call.

It appears that the Tesla is retaining the connection to my phone, I assume through it's SIM, even when the phone is nowhere near the car.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

What type of phone? iPhones (for example) have a feature of adding additional numbers to ring. There is zero chance the car kept the phone connection from 4 miles as it is a bluetooth connection.

There could have been an issue with carriers or something, but it wasnt because the car kept a bluetooth connection from 4 miles away.

I agree it can't be a bluetooth connection over that distance..
It's baffling, I've tried many way to recreate it but can't.

Is your phone iOS (Apple) or Android, and if its iOS, do you share an apple id with your wife or do you each have your own?
