"Impossible is nothing". Once the EVs start gaining decent amount of market share there should be enough incentives for new technologies to be developed around it. If not for lithium-ion, there will be something else.

But it’s not just about battery range... aurtomomous driving will change the paradigm.... rather than one owned or leased tractor, pools of tractors (and drivers or ‘autonomous robots’ (software) rented on an hour by hour basis) would allow changes say every 500 Miles giving effectively unlimited range. Palletised loads give even more flexibility.
