Not buy anything :) You are totally correct, I bought majority of my shares when the stock dipped to 190 last year with a plan to hold it for 5 years. My strategy hasn't really changed. I don't need to add more, but at that price point its too low not to add more.
why would you fixate at $300/share is there something special about that number ...that makes no sense this is a 10-20 X company from here ... you clearly have not done any fundamental analysis ... in my modelling $300/share price target would equate to 235,000 deliveries in 2020 , 50% less than current guidance....... not advice

In case someone is freaking out on the SP: here's a comparison of stockperformance of Tesla vs Volkswagen/Ford/GM/Hyundai/Renault/FCA over the past years: SO STOP FREAKING OUT!
WE ARE LONG BULLS!

It's not set in stone. If macro changes tomorrow, I'm 99% sure his price target will change. We all need a number to stick to in this macro.

Don't agree there. I might have $10k to throw at shares in the coming days. If the price is $200 I can get 50, if it's $300 I'll get 33, $400, 25, etc.

So I agree in terms of a single share price, but the entry price for a fixed amount of money can make a big difference long term due to the share multiplier.
ok what i do is lower my lot size ... i just would not fixate on round numbers

Oh my, 69 cents to the dollar. Canada is part of my plan. Thx, I wasn't watching. Ouch for snowbirds from there.

We are snowbirds but got back a few weeks ago as we had yo back to work.

But seriously. I just checked and prices haven’t changed on the Canadian website. If they do does Tesla have a history of honouring the price that the order was put in at? Can’t find any info on this. We put in our order to weeks ago.

They do but idk about exchange variables.

I see there Naz crawling back to 7300 level but magically some corona news will come right about then and if its me I will be very cautious as selling likely to resume....jmho.

This will not be a V shaped bounce back.

Posted this yesterday morning when we were in the start of a intraday bull frenzy...technical reason why I keep going back to 7300ish level on Naz...selling resumed as expected in after-hours to trap the longs.

the price target likely will change .... but what would your guess be ?

400,000 ?
I don't know. If it keeps dropping like a rock I would say PT will go down a bit. Maybe he has a target number of shares he wants to own. If SP consolidates then he might feel more urgent to buy and adjust his expectation. There's no good PT scientifically, only psychologically. We all need some sort of a plan.

Tesla has a history of making their customers whole - you'll pay the lower price as long as you don't cancel your order.

BTW., Fremont and GF1 are not just critical "manufacturing sector", but also "energy sector" companies, so the federal prohibition on interfering with the operations of these critical national infrastructure factories would apply there too.

A question is whether Tesla wants to fight that fight in the courts though.

Now you’ve lost your mind if you’re questioning Tesla’s resolve to fight everything that is wrong, stupid, unfair or otherwise. Never mind that Tesla is now in a position of strength. They’re no longer some powerless fledgling.

You and everyone else better hope Tesla stays scrappy and fierce. If they give up now, we’re all doomed not just the elderly or those with underlying preexisting conditions. All of us. I think you know this, but there are more and more people here who’ve lost sight of that fact. Forest or trees, people?

There’s a world-sized survival of the fittest going on right now in all sectors of life; whole of the population not just individual people, entire industries not just individual businesses, nay entire countries and their economies, not just counties or cities. The planet and every living creature is under assault and has been for some time.

This is where I inject some froo-froo, mumbo jumbo, so skip if you’re void of any type or level of spirituality.

When we as individuals fail to listen to God, Ala, The Universe, Alien Simulation, whatever or whomever you place your faith, eventually he, she, they, it makes us listen in a myriad of possible ways. I can give literally thousands of examples of this that just I have observed in my life and the lives of people I know, as well as documented in historical texts.

Point: We’re in the process of being made to change and have been for awhile. We’ve ignored the extinction of species warnings, we’ve ignored the pollution warnings, we’ve ignored the weather warnings, we’ve ignored the societal warnings.

Change willingly or be forced. I assure you no matter how much you think changing willingly will hurt, being forced will in fact hurt way more. Just take a look around you today.

I picked my side 8 years ago. I’m on team Elon come hell or high water. I have to say, though, that many here are not giving me warm and fuzzy feelings despite proclaiming to be on the same team. And don’t be mistaken that that’s simply or only a reference to whether you sold your TSLA stock or not. It’s not, not even close.

I’m am forever reminded that the human race is a plague in and of itself. I’ve got to go hug my cat now despite the restrained protest I am surely to receive. He and all cats know what people are about. I’ll still take him to the island, though. Rat control is important no matter where you live on this God forsaken orb.

Big Q here:

GM currently has a market cap of $25b and Ford $18bn.

Does there become a point where all their corporate debt bankrupts them? I mean, is the debt secured against the trading value of the company? Or is it secured against assets such as factories etc?

The appalling inability of governments to lead and coordinate would suggest there is still plenty of suffering for the economy (and markets).
Significant negative loops are being created at the moment and everyone is just panicking (which is dumb). Have you heard of any coordinated strategic planning considering various scenarios being discussed? Any discussion on integrated health/economics responses? No? More pain then.

For me, two signals to follow.
First, when the US is about to break the exponential line of diffusion. If Italy really manages to do that at the end of this week (I really hope so, but it is sad many are still not helping there), we could get a sense of how far this still is. A month is likely if effective measures are followed.
Second, a clear coordinated strategy at the global level (at least for major economies).
Provided the markets (debts/defaults) are still breathing at that stage, which is may main concern at the moment. Time has a cost.

P.S.: apologies for all the brackets!

Never apologize for actually using parentheses! They add a depth to the written language that conveys more meaning more reliably and with less reader effort.

I didn't see this - if federal law preempts state law here I'd expect Tesla to contest parts of this order in court.

It's going to be okay. Telsa should rightfully expect their share of compensation for lost time due to the shutdown. The only reason to go to Court would be if that is withheld. It won't be, Tesla is vital to SFO.

Further, with $1T in economic stimulus inbound for the economy, Tesla is sure to qualify for at least $5-10B in zero interest federal loans (essentially grants). With the pending construction of 5-8 new Gigafactories, Tesla will be a MAGNET for employment hunger States looking to restart their economies. This could actually ACCELERATE Tesla's buildout, and all that matters is CAPACITY in 2030.

I'm very sad for all the people we have lost, and deeply concerned for those currently affected, but for Tesla this is likely the start of a new chapter of growth and expansion.

I'm a buyer, just not quite yet. HODLing today.

Cheers!
