I have exited my position as president of the Gary Black fan club.
I'll start to worry about the "Q1 miss" he is referring to when @Troy tells us there is a reason to. However with the recent pictures from GF3, bursting with cars both on the in and outside, plus 6 ships docking at Zeebrugge in February alone (Q4 had 9 in total, with only 4 in November), I am not losing sleep.

Teslarati - today: Tesla ramps hiring for Autopilot data labeling team in Gigafactory New York

Excerpt:

A recent post from Tesla’s official LinkedIn account has indicated that the company is looking to bolster its Autopilot team with a number of dedicated data annotation-related job openings. Quite interestingly, the pertinent job listings are for Buffalo, the location where Tesla’s Solar Roof and Supercharger factory, Gigafactory New York, is located.

As per the electric car maker’s LinkedIn post, labeled data is a critical ingredient for training powerful Deep Neural Networks, which are pivotal to Tesla’s goal of achieving autonomy. A look at Tesla’s Careers Page indicates that the electric car maker has three job listings for its Data Annotation team in Buffalo: a Data Annotation Specialist, a Data Annotation Supervisor, and a Data Annotation Lead.

Off topic -

Cannot seem to find a post previously which talked about selling off Dec 31 to book losses against the gains, and how it would probably not offset the gains because it settled a few days later in the next year:

Was researching this a bit more, and found this -

In light of today's announcement. I just want to point out one thing. Ask yourself this question on your future investments in your risky portfolio.

1. Is this controversial?
2. Is this development team a good team?
3. What are the smartest people saying about this? What are the dumbest people saying about this? Average the result together and make your position base on it.

And on the emotional side of thing. If you feel like you've been wronged or this rubbed you the wrong way, you need to figure out which emotions are involved and why. There's some deep seated issues if you "FEEL" something with this.

For example, I am well aware and definitely champion my deep seated hatred towards oil and TSLA investment is the outcome and I accepted it.

Any news? TSLA selling off and major volume coming into QQQ as it drops.

Stock showed signs of a walkdown most of the morning. I closed my short puts expiring this Friday in anticipation of a drop a little while ago - I think there's a chance TSLA gets punished in the short term for this news. Will wait for the market to digest the BTC news for a few days before I re-open any short-term bullish positions.

People can play with the price but 100% certainty this is a BULLISH move.

1.5 Billion for TSLA in BTC is not very much. And the value of that holding has increased.

Not worried on short puts as long as its OTM. Theta will be awesome come Wed/Thu.

Completely relaxed. Just want to make I am out of short calls (covered) when Cathie drops her 10,000 PT report.

It does make you wonder how much video game playing is contributing to global warming compared to bitcoin mining? If these game players cared about the climate, they would turn off their games and TVs and go for a hike instead.

Gamers typically have one GPU that is off or idle more often than being 100% used. Bitcoin miners have arrays of computers, each with several ASIC cards running at 100% 24/7/365.

There is a discussion regarding bitcoin and tesla going now in the teslamotors subreddit. Number being thrown about and cited is that current bitcoin transactions use 660 kWh each. I've been a gamer for 40 years, console and PC, and my electric bill doesn't reflect anywhere near that level of usage for my gaming.

I respect Cathie Wood and Elon Musk, and do think they understand things I do not, but I'm still skeptical on Bitcoin. I think the block chain technology is sound, but I think the specific instantiation that is Bitcoin may not end up being the future energy credit currency.

Where do you think the dollars Tesla paid for the BTCs are now?

I have full confidence they are in an account reviewed and approved by Elon and Larry that does not authorize those shares to be used in any securities lending program or Hedge Fund data mining program to benefit Shorts. Thus I am also quite confident Robinhood/Vlad did not receive a copy of that solicitation for offerers..;)

You don't need to average in what dumb people think. :D The truth is not in the middle of two extremes necessarily, and of course this is adjacent to the 'Middle Ground' fallacy. The whole reason you'd assess what is 'dumb advice' or 'smart advice' is to ultimately ignore the dumb advice (after initial consideration) when vetting your own conclusions.

A rumor of a weak report from a weak site

I’m not clicking that. Next!

I took the bait and dear lord Fred can't do an ounce of research. Alex Alex (@alex_avoigt) / Twitter already covered this. The only building "missing" is the battery cell facility.....except that we all know Tesla will be sending the 4680 cells from Kato to Berlin for the first few months.

It's a hit piece. Took me all of 5 mins to find actual information on it. But ya know Fred....gotta get those clicks

Edit: Sorry, it's this twitter account that breaks apart this "report" JPR007 on Twitter: "EVERYONE WORKING HARD TO BRING TSLA STOCK PRICE DOWN TO MORE AFFORDABLE LEVELS !!! Tesla faces a "massive delay" to its target of starting production at its new European plant in the summer, sources told Automobilwoche https://t.co/Cpkn3FiZ5x" / Twitter

What do you guys think China reaction to Tesla's Bitcoin? China banned bitcoin.
The Chinese can't use USD or BTC to buy a car in China. So...no one cares?
USD is very hard to obtain in China, so it's as good as banned as well. You can go from USD to Yuan with very little problem. However there's a hard cap on Yuan to USD unless there are additional purpose the government needs to know about.
