Tesla has posted a video that gives a view of what it’s like to go from 0-60 mph in less than two seconds.
The montage of test rides from the Model S Plaid event shows people being pinned to their seats as the car accelerates through a tunnel of light. Riders try to steady cameras in their hands as the driver punches the accelerator. In one clip, the driver’s hat flies off.
Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk shared the clip, adding that peak acceleration has a g-force of 1.2, 20% faster than falling.
Tesla previously planned a Model S Plaid+, an even speedier version of the super-fast flagship. Musk canceled the plan shortly before Plaid’s first deliveries, saying there’s “no need” because “Plaid is just so good.”
