Tesla Y all weather floor mats - is this normal?

Decided on the Tesla brand weather tech floor mats. Happy with the passenger and rear. Driver side - only concern is adjacent the door (see photos). I’m not terrible concerned but it’s just not completely flush on the side.

For others, is this just how it is due to the curvature of the pedal area? Am I doing something wrong here?

Sweet thanks everyone! I figured as much. Already starting to look better after one trip.

I set mine out in the sun on a warm day before installing then straightened out the “bends” while still warm and in place.

WeatherTechs also relax in time. Aren't Tesla floor liners made by WT? Or am I assuming wrong?
