Elliott Museum Celebrates the Art of the Electric Automobilie: New & Old
Featuring the Award Winning TESLA Model S January 18th & 19th

The Elliott Museum is a technology museum located in Stuart, Florida at 825 N.E. Ocean Blvd. It is only 20 miles from the Port Saint Lucie Superchargers. It has a comprehensive antique automobile collection, including a 1914 Detroit Electric. The collection is presented via a robotic, three-story stacking system allowing visitors to select vehicles for closer viewing and then watch as it moves from its storage slot onto a custom turntable. Museum admission is $12.

During January 18-19th they will have a Tesla available on the floor the museum, with Tesla representatives on hand to talk about the innovations in the Model S. For those interested they will have test drives that can be scheduled throughout the day during museum hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, on on Sunday morning January 19th at 8:30 a.m. for Tesla owners the museum will be hosting a coffee and cars. This would be a perfect opportunity to have a club meet-up.

On Thursday, January 23rd at 7 p.m. a lecture will be presented by Elliott Museum Education Coordinator Al Simbritz. “The fascinating history of the electric powered automobile in the United States". Lectures are free to members and cost $12 (museum admission) for all others. Seating limited and RSVP is suggested. To RSVP call 772-225-1961 ext 124 or email:[email protected].

We should have a nice turnout for the Elliott Museum event this coming Sunday.

In addition to the meet-up during the Cars and Coffee event at the Elliott Museum we are tentatively planning to have another meet-up for a late lunch (~1:30pm) following the tour of the museum.

For those of us traveling a distance the most convenient location would be to have lunch at the TGI Friday's near the Port Saint Lucie Supercharger. (The General Manager is still offering club members a 25% discount.)

If your schedule permits you to join us at TGI Friday's at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 19th, please RSVP to me as soon as possible to permit us to coordinate with the restaurant.

Thanks.

I want to thank club member Steven Swann, Tesla and The Eliott Museum for such a great event. I lost count of all the Model Ss, but I'm guessing two dozen along with club member Dawn Lenfest's beautiful Glacier Blue Roadster.

Tesla arranged to have two Model Ss at the museum for the weekend to supply test drives to prospective buyers.

Plenty of Model Ss coming in and out all day for the Cars & Coffee event. In the foreground is club member Brad Bargman's custom Model S.

The museum gave us a presentation of their vintage cars including this cool looking 1914 Detroit Electric.

One thing that the Detroit Electric has the Model S beat is headroom.

The museum provided us a private tour of their garage.

The museum has a unique car "rotisserie". This three-story parking structure is automated and allows you to select a vintage car from their impressive collection and the device picks the car and serves it up on a display turn table.

Here are Roger, Matt, Steve, Binh, Joel and Bill at a meet-up at the Port Saint Lucie Supercharger at TGI Friday's. They were very accommodating and continue to offer club members a 25% discount.
