Tesla's in transit - rail hub in Birmingham, AL

Here's some photos taken this afternoon (Sunday, June 24th). I believe this rail hub acts as the drop off point for cars distributed throughout the Southeast. Even though it was Sunday, 2 car haulers were loading up. There look to be a couple of hundred Tesla's in this lot, but there is another lot behind the rail cars you see in the photo's. I was not able to see what was in the larger, secondary lot.

I've always wondered where this was exactly. I even asked (jokingly) my inside sales advisor if I could just go to there and pick up my car instead of having it get shipped to Nashville or Atlanta.

Nice to see the new baggies in use. Some of them have been there longer so aren't bagged? Any idea about what % of the 3s were bagged versus not?

My guess would be maybe 1/3-1/2. The rest were a mix of no wrap or the white plastic cling wrap

As you can see on some cars Tesla even missed painting the doors the same color as the rest of the body. Clear proof that their QA sucks. Time to short Tesla.

Believe me I read that on Twitter, and the bears were having an orgasm with that theory.

Here's the lot on the morning of the 4th of July. A couple of car carriers loading up. The lot is the fullest I've see it.

Also, looks like the vast majority have the aero wheel configuration.

I wonder how often rail cars are unloaded. On Monday my ISA said mine would be arriving in Birmingham by the end of the week and then we could schedule an appointment. He said he could schedule one now, but based how the rail/pickup schedules it may not be a solid time until it's arrived in Birmingham. I am selling my truck Friday and using a rental car for what I hope is only a week until I pick up my car. He gave me a no later than date of the 14th.... we will see.
