We’re visiting from the US and are renting a Model 3 from Sixt at Brisbane Airport next week. We’re going to be driving up to the Sunshine Coast, ferry to K’gari and the Australia Zoo. A few questions if anyone can help:
-How reliable is the Chargefox network? Sixt provides free charging on it. Does anyone know how long it takes to charge 10-80% on the 50 kw stations?
-any other tips for driving this route?

Your Tesla (assuming SR+/RWD) battery is about 60kWh.. so 70% added is 42kWh, which will take almost an hour on a 50kW charger (which normally charges a little lower).

The Chargefox network is reasonably reliable. Chargefox app has live availability. The main issue in that area is most sites are single stall so you may find it occupied by another car.

Assume you are just driving to the Resort on K'Gari.

Also Tesla Superchargers at Maroochydore and Gympie (presume sixt would rebill for those) which would be faster for charging.

There's also the Evie charger at Wild Horse Mountain Service Centre which is quite close to Australia Zoo, that will charge the Model 3 at up to about 180kW for 65c/kWh. If you're on holiday you probably want the most convenient options rather than min-maxing the free charging.

I used a Supercharger on the M3 from SIXT I rented in Brisbane and was not charged for it.

Interesting, will have to give that a go too. Their website says only Chargefox, so we will see. Thanks for all the tips everyone!
Didn’t end up needing any paid charging due to getting a Model Y instead and free charging at the Australia Zoo and our AirBnB. Great experience through Sixt and seeing so many EVs in NSW and QLD. Lots of BYD Atto 3s
