I would go Silver with the Sig Red. I'm doing perf wheels only because I am going with black. I think it's too much contrast on the red, unless there was some way to darken the chrome detailing.
Anything on the interior that reflects the sun and blinds you is bad. The Prius has a very annoying chrome ring around the start button--black plastic would have been just fine.
I love it; the dark just looks like an afterthought/ rubber gasket to me, whereas the chrome looks thought out, intentional and snazzy. There was a sturdiness to cars from an earlier era that I miss. When I was a teenager, people were able to sit on the hoods of their cars. I've not seen anyone do that for over three decades! The chrome offers that strength in my mind.
Agreed, the de-chroming will give a sportier edge to the performance. BMW has done this for a while now, called their "Shadowline trim", and reserved for sports/performance models.
Right. I have shadowline trim on my BMW 3-series coupe as it came with my "sport package" exterior. On the Model S though I quite like the chrome accents.
My current car is silver with chrome surroundings and silver wheels...I've had it for a few years and still like the look of it.
I think I would just go on and do exactly the same with the Model S.
