Tow hitch and new single cast frame

So there’s a feeling out there that I’m reading about in couple of forums including this one that ordering the tow hitch slows down the delivery of the recently ordered model y’s (say late June and beyond). Opinions on whether that’s true or if it is maybe more like the new single cast frame and tow hitch combination that might actually be the cause?


(Yes I know I could have added the hitch aftermarket for less dollars...but I wanted the thing whole from the factory)

I have the same fear. I switched from a RWD to AWD with hitch about a month ago. I would hope the new machine speeds up the process. I hope they stay within the 4-8 week window.

Can someone link where it’s been confirmed that they have started using the single cast?

I'm in the same boat - placed my order 7/31 with tow hitch. I've noticed that there have been a handful of people who placed their orders on the same date and even after without the tow hitch who received the "Your Y will be ready in 3-6 weeks" text message with some even receiving delivery dates already. I haven't received a text or VIN yet but I'm trying to patiently wait.
