Trade in credit not showing tax discount?

I have a MY LR on order that says it will be here in a week. I’m trading a ‘21 MY LR because the Tesla offered me a ridiculous amount for the car. In Georgia, you only pay sales tax on the difference between the new car and the trade in. So I should only be paying a small amount of tax on the new car. But my sales orders says I owe a tax amount on the whole price of the ‘22. I’ve tried contacting them, but you know how that goes. No one has an answer. Is this normal?

I should be paying the difference of $67,940 - $63,000 = $4,940. The tax should be $326.04

I’ve tried calling and chatting. I was told an SA would call. But no one has called and the total is still wrong.

Things will start to solidify once you are assigned a VIN. The details - including tax, credits, total cost, etc - will be shown in the MVPA Final Price Sheet. The MVPA usually populates 96-48 hours within car delivery.

I wouldn't stress over it if your state has rule to deduct trade-in value from taxable cost - Tesla is usually good at following thru.

I’m sure it will get sorted out but you’re not crazy…attaching mine so you can see, my trade in credit is 49,400, sales tax for me is 7.8% so I’m paying (72,940-49,400) * 0.078 = 1,836.12 in sales tax, which is exactly what it says for me. If I were paying on the full amount it’d be 5,689.32… the savings of roughly 4k is the main reason I’m opting to trade it in to Tesla… so I’d want it fixed in their system too, even though I’m sure it will all work out on delivery day.
