Trunk Light Switch

ahhh, didn't know you did something else in conjunction with it. Leaving a door or the trunk open for a while and watch the lights. In about 10 minutes they go out. Then for instance closing and opening a door again will reset and the trunk lights come back on. Have done it many times while tinkering with light strips and brighter lights in the doors and trunk.

Speaking of lights. Did you know you can do your own surgery on your LED puddle lights and upgrade the brightness for less than a 50 cents each than buying aftermarket ones for $10 each?

Pop the clear lens off. Pry the white cardboard out that has the LED mounted on it. Break it at the solder joint on one end. Cut a three or six LED section from a 16' foot 12V non-waterproof LED light strip. Test poplarity and solder at the two solder joints. Fold the lights in to the lens and snap back on. Takes 5 minutes total. 3-6 times brighter for 50 cents. Put the brightest where they do the most good, and the bright-ER when you need them, but not quite so bright.
