My UMC Charger stopped working at 2yr+1wk. Not covered under warranty (apparently 1yr?). Lengthy time for Tesla locating a replacement or "re-manufactured" unit, which would cost $1500 (same price shown for new one on their website). Not needing a 2nd pigtail that comes with a purchase ($100 value on website) and not seeing a valuation for my old UMC being a "donor" toward future remanufacturing - I asked for a recalc: $1300 I hear there is someone that can modify UMC's to accept the J plug? Is there a better utilization for a tired UMC than a credit of $100?
I also recall someone on the forum was looking to buy a defective UMC. If I come across the link I'll share, I'm sure he'll give you more than the $100 credit if it comes down to that.
