Have not seen any evidence of my car communicating with Tesla or vs in 2 weeks of being connected to my home network.

Noticed many strange behaviour in the 8.0 software and unsure if they are bugs or user error.

Yesterday Wife moved car from driveway to garage and Mjolnir; the car almost closed the garage door and hit trunk. Wife had to gun it and slam on brake to avoid the door hitting car. She hates it now because she got scared. This is the first time the car has closed the door pulling in.

I need this software patched. This is but 1 of dozens of instances where it does something once or twice unexpectedly. Somewhat exciting and some dangerous.

I contacted support today but it's been too soon to expect a response so I wait . And you say?

Oh . Atlanta Tesla Facebook club; Very unresponsive and disappointing.

Twice I'm backing out of the garage and the car closed the door while leaving every other time I've had to hit it. Similar performance coming home.

That's home link.

I hate when I'm backing it out and my six year old or grand mother is waiting outside the car ( they bot cannot stay still) and the car detects their motion and slams on the emergency brake and park. My heart skips a beat the few times it does that because I feel I hit something.

It sleeps although I have always connected no power saver and all the settings set for it to wake up quickly...sometimes I have to push the button. The delivery specialist said the car will learn me and my schedule. Well sometimes I have to wake it up although I stand next to it with the keys.

Sometimes I have to open it to connect tesla charging cable at home. At a supercharger it was eager to get the connection even with the cable far away from car.

Noises, shudders, lights behaviour, sensors in close quarters...I could go on and on. Wife is scared of it because it is not consistent.

Did you reset the car position where want the door to close/open? Since you probably programmed it with your car inside the garage it might auto open/close too close. It's easy to update, just back out and in controls menu homelink choose (I forget exact button title) "set position"

Home link is an accident waiting to happen in my opinion. The homelink protocol for most openers is a single signal. "Go" It would be much more robust if there were two commands "open" and "closed".

Personally, I'm going to be using manual. Of course, I'll have to worry if I remembered to close the door when leaving.

Tesla support reached out to me. We cycled the screens, powered off the car for two minutes. Verified they could see it online via my wifi. At about 1am it got two minor updates. Since then nada .. The release notes for both updates were blank. I assume the navigation system was the target since the voice can be heard now.

I'm sure my car is connected so I'll close this post.

Oh. Today I went to autozone...they "don't know anything called a Tesla." I know now I live way way out there....

Do you have your seatbelt on when backing up? If you lift your weight off the seat to look back, and the seatbelt is not buckled, the car will go into park.

I did not know of any nearby motion detection.

Did you ask for them to look up the part number for the spark plugs? :)

Car does interestingly odd stuff everyday. I find it so exciting, I cannot wait to drive it everyday. It's a treat. Wish I could be paid to troubleshoot these things. Go around singing

"I've been everywhere man...."
